We attended that last “Legends” show at the Trop last November. Despite having cut back on the live musicians and dancers, it was still a good (and modestly priced) show.
While attendance was modest at the “Legends” show was small, a large crowd had gathered for the Prince tribute show.

Hey Scott, you forgot to mention that music legend Gladys Knight had a great show at the Tropicana and she couldn’t make it there. That is a Tropicana curse.

I saw the Imperial Palace original in 1986, “for free” as a reward for enduring a timeshare presentation. Hard to believe that was 36 years ago. Elvis was the only star who was ALWAYS featured. If the scheduled Elvis was unable to make it, Las Vegas had backup Elvis impersonators on call in those days. He had passed only nine years earlier, and now it’s become 45. I’m drawing a blank trying to remember some of the others who appeared that night: Tom Jones? Tina Turner? Liberace? Neil Diamond? Barbra? Sorry. “Legends” was classic Las Vegas nostalgia hype even then, and I suspect it’s become even more so over the years.

Back when I was a yee lad, in Junior High and High School, Legends was anchored at the Imperial Palace. It was there for years maybe even decades. Ahhh the good old days when rooms at the IP Sunday through Thursday were $20-40 a night there were no resort fees no parking fees. You even got a free buffet (or at least 2 for 1) and you got free tickets to the antique car collection. These days you’re lucky if just your resort fee is $35-40 a night.

The Tropicana is ready to be another Vegas memory. The current owners have let the property deteriorate to the point of No Return. I am hoping that Legends in Concert can be re-established in a respectable venue before the fateful 2023 demolition of the current “DUMP” that was once known as The Tropicana.

Was a good show. Funny and believable. I got a visit from Elvis during the show. Hope this isn't a sign of the Trops demise?

We loved Legends have see many times. Hopefully will get a new home on the strip.
