  I guess nothing can last forever. $2 is still not that bad... Have to head down to Fremont or off the strip to do much better.

  Hubster loved this but 2 is good too. This hotel is also VERY VERY nice btw.

  I go there to play Switch BlackJack when I'm in town. The free beer they give you while playing is poured in like 8-10 oz glass. I actually prefer it in the glass because it always seems colder than the bottled ones. Just wish the glass was larger.

  Here in the cornfields we get a product called Michelob Golden, and its far, far more prevalent counterpart, Michelob Golden Light. That stuff has been around for at least 25 years. Mich Golden was St. Louis' answer to Miller Genuine Draft. I enjoyed the Mich Golden products back in the day, with their odd, unique cans. So one day I decided to try the original Michelob product, as I was sure to like that, too. Wrong. It was terrible. I never see anyone drinking regular Michelob. Never. So it didn't surprise me that it was the $1 beer at CR. They could raise the price to $10 for all I care, I wasn't going to pay a buck for a bottle of a beer I couldn't stomach. I'm the only one who doesn't think it's a really, really great beer, evidently. Que sera sera.

  It all depends on how you grew up. If you grew up laboring in the sun every day, you left the job site and zeroed in on the nearest beer store to pick up a six-pack that would be down the hatch before you got home. On the other hand, if you grew up fancy, you probably grew up sipping beer like it's wine. So unless you're a sipper, Michelob is fine. I drink Natural Light. It's like pure water with a perfect balance of fizz. I can pour can after can straight down my throat after a hard day and still make my trailer payment, which is key to avoiding homelessness.

  Wait, burying the lede much?! Never had a beer?! Seriously? Much like when Penn Jillette says he's never had "so much as a puff of marijuana or a drop of alcohol" I have to tilt my head sideways and go...realllly? But then, he's kind of a nut...a likable and talented nut but a nut nonetheless, so maybe so. I guess the same applies to you! :)

  I don't fault nor blame them. It is still a steal for The Strip. (Most people don't know nor could they find Stage Door, although we're fans). Casino Royale parking continues to be an awesome best kept secret.

  When i get a beer i would always tip a dollar so its was costing me $2 a beer anyway. I"ll still tip a dollar so now it will be $3. As noted the Stage Door has $1 PBR. I get the $2 Coronas. PBR gives me heartburn

  Gawd that photo you shared in your post. The CR is such an anachronism on the strip now, it looks SO dated and like it's from another world surrounded by all the modern resorts. Wonder how much longer it can hang on. BTW a $2 crap beer is still a crap beer.

  It hangs on BECAUSE it’s not like every other place on the strip. Once Barbary Coast/Bill’s bit the dust, CR stood alone. It’s always packed - they must be doing something right.

  Yeah maybe, but they used to say that about O'Shea's too, that if you took away the seediness and 30 year old dust and beer stains no one would come back to that...have you walked through there lately? It's packed all the time. You can update/upgrade something that needs it without it losing its character.

  Casino Royale has expanded and updated over the last two years. I can’t speak for the hotel only the casino.

  That's only 50 beers an hour. How small is that place? I've served more beers than that in a local dive bar.

  Looking at the empty beer bottles scattered around my trailer at this very moment, 7+ million bottles of beer over 15 years doesn't seem like that much.

  Yeah, our new set of salad bowls for this Thanksgiving all say "Cool Whip" on the side. We're pretty excited about showing those off. Cleanup is the hard part. I always know when the dishwasher is loaded when the wife starts slurring her words. I'd rather be guzzling two dollar Michelobs at Casino Royale.
